Terms of service
1. Who we are
Little Years is a trading name of Alan Barbero, a sole trader based at 15/18 Northfield Drive, Edinburgh EH8 7RP, United Kingdom. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Little Years. "You" means the person using this website or placing an order.
You can contact us at any time at alanbarbero02@gmail.com. We are not VAT registered.
Our store is powered by Shopify, which provides the platform this website runs on. Your purchase, however, is made directly with Little Years, and we are responsible for it.
2. These terms
These terms apply when you use this website or buy from us. Please read them before you order. Our Returns and Refunds Policy, Shipping Policy and Privacy Policy form part of them.
Nothing in these terms reduces your legal rights as a consumer. If any part of these terms conflicts with those rights, your rights win.
3. Placing an order
When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. Your order is accepted, and a contract between us comes into existence, when we send you an email confirming that we have accepted it — not when you complete checkout and not when your payment is taken.
We may decline an order. The usual reasons are that an item is out of stock, we have spotted a pricing or description error, we cannot deliver to your address, or we suspect fraud. If we decline your order we will tell you and refund any payment in full.
Please check your order carefully before you pay. Some items are sent straight to our supplier for dispatch, so we may not be able to change or cancel an order after you place it. That does not affect your 14-day right to cancel once the goods arrive — see our Returns and Refunds Policy.
4. Our products
We describe and photograph our products as accurately as we can. Colours can look different depending on your screen, and packaging may vary. If an item is significantly different from how it was described, you have the right to reject it — see our Returns and Refunds Policy.
Our products are consumer goods for household use. They are not sold for commercial resale.
Where a product is intended for use by or around children, please follow any age guidance and safety instructions supplied with it.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include all taxes. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. Delivery is charged separately and is shown at checkout before you pay.
The price you pay is the price shown when you place your order. If we discover that an item was listed at the wrong price, we will contact you before accepting your order and you can confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
Payment is taken at checkout. We do not store your card details — payment is handled by our payment provider.
6. Delivery
We deliver to the United Kingdom. Delivery costs, timescales and what happens if a parcel is late are set out in our Shipping Policy. We deliver within 30 days of your order at the latest, and you can cancel for a full refund if we do not.
Goods become your responsibility once they are delivered to the address you gave us.
7. Returns and refunds
You have 14 days from receiving your goods to cancel for any reason, and separate rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described. Both are explained in full in our Returns and Refunds Policy.
8. Your account
If you create an account, keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used it. Please give us accurate contact and delivery details and keep them up to date, so we can actually deliver your order and reach you if something goes wrong.
9. How you may use this website
You may use this website to browse and to buy. You may not use it to break the law, to interfere with how it works, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, to collect other people's personal information, or to copy or reuse our content for your own commercial purposes.
Our name, logo, text, photographs and page designs belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. You may not reproduce them without our permission.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
10. Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet our obligations under these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable.
We do not in any way limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your legal rights in relation to the goods, or for anything else where the law does not allow us to limit our liability.
We do not exclude liability for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
We supply our products for domestic and private use. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption.
11. Things outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, carrier strikes, customs delays, or supplier failure. If such an event happens we will contact you as soon as we can, and if the delay is substantial you may cancel your order and receive a full refund.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the version published on this website when you placed it, so changes we make later do not affect orders already accepted.
13. Complaints
Email alanbarbero02@gmail.com and we aim to reply within two working days. We are not currently a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and disputes may be brought before the Scottish courts. If you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
15. Other points
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not insist that you do something you are required to do under these terms, that does not stop us from doing so later. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business, and we will tell you if we do; it will not affect your rights.
